A coaching program for new hire mid-level and senior managers designed to increase productivity and leadership impact within the first 90 days.

 

Objective:  To increase new hire leader effectiveness through a 90 day coaching program.

Viewpoint:  You’ve invested time and money to find new talent.   Now let’s invest in a process to increase new hire effectiveness and to increase the likelihood of retaining this important talent.

Deliverables:  There are 12, one hour coaching discussions conducted weekly between the new leader and the coach.  Three of these are milestone discussions which include the new hire’s manager.

Format:  The milestone discussions are through video conferencing or in person with the other coaching discussions by phone.


Why A Coach?  The coach has the time and experience to have directed discussions with the new hire manager about challenges they face when starting new roles in the new organization. The coach asks the right questions to prompt action and then follows-up to help intentions turn into actions.  The manager of the new hire actively participates by identifying priorities and specific actions the new hire manager can take to ensure that their performance is accelerated.

Coaching Topics:  The topics will be adjusted to match the situation and often include:  

  • Looking forward vs. backward 
  • How to best learn about the formal and informal aspects of the organization 
  • Starting positively with your new team  
  • Ensuring performance clarity yours and your team’s 
  • Securing early wins – that really matter 
  • Using change management approaches effectively 
  • Aligning yourself with the organizational strategy
  • Helping others be successful  
  • Establishing new routines for you and for your team 
  • Trust building actions

Milestone Discussions:  These include the new hire manager, their manager and the coach.
